What is MEVA? Like many organizations, our members come from a variety of backgrounds and interests. We currently have EV Owners, Engineers, Environmentalists, Dealers and Enthusiasts amongst our membership. Other than a common interest in the technology involved, we all tend to share a passion to promote EV’s as a viable alternative to traditional transportation technologies. When do you hold meetings? Can I come? Visitors are always welcome at our regular meetings, which are usually held the last Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm. Meetings are currently being held at the University of Manitoba in the Agricultural Building, Room 218, 66 Dafoe Road. Information relating to upcoming meetings will be available on our webpage. Do I have to be an EV owner to become a member? No! Many of our members do not currently own an EV, although many are considering doing so. What kind of vehicles does MEVA represent? Our members have a broad variety of interests. We currently have large numbers of members interested in both 2 wheeled (Bicycles, Scooters) and 4 wheeled vehicles, although there has been discussion on other electric transportation such as electric boats and even aircraft. ManitobaEV History
The Manitoba Electric Vehicle Association (MEVA) was established November 26, 2010. MEVA was founded by Dave Connell, the charter chairman of the organization. His passion, hard work and dedication have brought together an enthusiastic and rapidly growing group of people who share a common interest in electric transportation. A wide variety of EVs are represented amongst our members; two wheel, four wheel, conversions and factory vehicles. The organization meets monthly. A brief business meeting is followed by an educational presentation and a time for informal discussion. Whether you are a novice to the electric vehicle world or have expertise to share, all are welcome to become a part of MEVA.
