The Manitoba Electric Vehicle Association (ManitobaEV) is excited to invite the public to an informative and engaging Electric Vehicle (EV) event, ManitobaEV Fest! Thanks to our title sponsor EasyEV, this annual event showcases many outstanding plugin vehicles (cars, trucks, SUVs, bikes, scooters, and more). Owners are welcome to bring their plug-in vehicles to show off and share with other enthusiasts and anyone curious about EVs. Automotive dealers and EV related vendors will also be there to show off what they have available and answer all your questions.
Everyone is welcome to come and check out what’s on display, open to the public and free to attend for owners and spectators! Join us in the IKEA Winnipeg (500 Sterling Lyon Parkway) parking lot on September 14, 2024 from 10 am to 4 pm.
This event is one of many taking place across North America in association with National Drive Electric Week (NDEW) which is officially September 27 to October 6, 2024, more details can be found at https://driveelectricweek.org/index.
With the new Manitoba Electric Vehicle Incentive Program, now is a great time for people to go electric and take advantage of the incentives being offered by the province and the federal government to make going electric more affordable.
Thanks to EasyEV and all our corporate members and participating vendors for making this event possible.
Why Attend?
As the world moves towards sustainable energy solutions, electric vehicles are leading the charge. EVs offer a cleaner, more efficient alternative to traditional gasoline-powered cars. Here’s why you should consider making the switch:
1. Environmental Impact:
Electric vehicles produce zero tailpipe emissions, reducing greenhouse gasses and air pollutants that contribute to climate change and poor air quality. By adopting EVs, we can significantly decrease our carbon footprint and protect Manitoba’s natural beauty for future generations.
2. Economic Benefits:
Owning an electric vehicle can lead to substantial savings over time. With lower fuel costs, reduced maintenance expenses, and government incentives, EVs are becoming an economically viable option for many Manitobans. Additionally, as electricity prices remain more stable than fluctuating gas prices, EV owners enjoy more predictable and affordable transportation costs.
3. Social Responsibility:
Transitioning to electric vehicles is not just a personal choice—it’s a collective responsibility. By driving an EV, you’re contributing to a healthier community by reducing harmful emissions and supporting the development of more sustainable energy infrastructure.
Our Commitment to Reducing Barriers
ManitobaEV is dedicated to making electric vehicles accessible to all Manitobans. One of the primary challenges in EV adoption is the availability of charging infrastructure. We’re actively working to reduce these barriers by advocating for more charging stations across the province, particularly in rural and underserved areas. Our efforts include collaborating with government bodies, local businesses, and other stakeholders to expand the charging network, ensuring that every Manitoban can confidently make the switch to an electric vehicle.
Event Highlights:
– EV Showcase: Explore a variety of electric vehicles from different manufacturers.
– EV Owner Testimonials: Ask all your questions and talk with real EV owners to learn what it’s actually like to drive an EV in Manitoba.
– EV Charging Vendors: Learn how easy it is to charge an EV at home or on the go.
– Test Rides/Drives: Experience the thrill of driving an electric vehicle yourself!
